Eric Diogo
Co- Founder
Diogo is Africa’s son with a dream, dedicated to bringing together talented and socially active youths to build and strengthen communities using their privileged positions of knowledge and resources. He is a trained lawyer and an Advocate of the High Court of Uganda and all subordinate courts, with extensive knowledge and expertise in law, refugee rights, forced migration, peace building, transitional justice, legislative drafting, legal advisory, and civic space programming. Diogo is the vision bearer of the Youth Baraza Initiative and co-founder of Mazungumzo, which is a growing community of community builders working to curate local solutions for Africa’s development agenda. His professional journey includes significant roles with the Kampala Capital City Authority, the Kampala District Land Board, the Inter-Religious Council of Uganda under the Uganda National Dialogue Coordinating Team, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in Uganda, the Office of the Prime Minister – Uganda, Caritas Fort Portal, and the African Youth Coalition for Peace and Development. These are roles held in refugee settlements, the central region and capital of Uganda and with the emergence of the African Youth Coalition for Peace and Development, Eric has actively participated in peace building efforts in the wider Great Lakes region of Africa. He firmly believes in the power of volunteerism as a crucial asset to Africa’s development agenda and is committed to making a positive impact through strengthening Youths collaboration and community engagement.
