Advocacy for Dialogue and Peaceful Conflict Resolution

Mazungumzo champions dialogue as a cornerstone for peacebuilding across the Great Lakes Region of Africa. Founded during the COVID-19 pandemic, we’ve grown into a youth-led member based community fostering  dialogue and peaceful conflict resolution. Physical to address pressing issues such as armed conflicts, the refugee crisis Through projects like the Youth Baraza and the Murugo justice project, we host community meetings, interactive talks both virtual and in the region, disability rights, affirmative action and the socio-political climate in the region. Our Hear Me project amplifies marginalized voices, encouraging honest conversations to resolve tensions. Collaborations such as that which led to the emergence of the Great Lakes Youth Network for Peace and Dialogue, the Murugo justice project, a Youth Parliament at Nakivale Refugee settlement with the Refugee Youth Parliament and the Refugee Law Project underscore our commitment to sustainable peace through inclusive discussions. Mazungumzo has earned a reputation of convener of youths when it comes to dialogue. Our outreaches and legal aid activities in refugee settlements in Uganda continues to inspire young people to seek the end of armed conflicts.
